Jerk Chicken with Walkerswood Jerk Seasoning
A savory and mildly spicy Jamaican jerk chicken recipe made with Walkerswood Traditional Jamaican Mild Jerk Seasoning.
Ingredients
- 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs (drumsticks or wings also work)
- 2 tablespoons Walkerswood Jerk Seasoning, Traditional, Jamaican, Mild
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar or white vinegar
- 1 lime, juiced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar (optional, for a touch of sweetness)
Instructions
- Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, combine all the ingredients. Mix well until incorporated.
- Marinate the Chicken: Place the chicken in a ziplock bag or shallow dish, coat with marinade, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Preheat the Grill: Set to medium-high heat, or preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Grill the Chicken: Grill each side for 6-7 minutes or until fully cooked, or bake for 35-40 minutes in the oven.
- Rest and Serve: Let the chicken rest a few minutes before serving.
- Garnish and Enjoy: Serve hot, garnished with lime wedges and fresh herbs. Pairs well with rice and peas or a salad.
