Tabwa Mask

A Tabwa people originally came from the area of what is now the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Zambia They crafted beautiful and intricate masks using geometric shapes and designs They played an important role in rituals and fertility rites This Tabwa Mask represents fine African craftsmanship from a people who were frequently enslaved (the verb tabwa means tied up) yet strove to remain artists and craftsmen It makes a distinctly African accent for any room Each mask is unique The mask measures approximately 4” to 6” wide and 8” to 11” long Made in Cameroon A-WC112
